Apart from my private practice, I had also been a facilitator in various Enhanced Step-Up Programs (ESU), doing contract work in schools, and giving parenting and mental wellness talks. In 2012, I published my first book Lessons in Therapy, a difficult yet exhilarating process which I will never forget. The start of my training company, Creative and Experiential Therapy Institute (CRaETI) was a different experience: giddying at the start, but something that needs unyielding stamina and a tolerance of uncertainty to sustain. To keep myself sane, I meet up with a bunch of sandplay therapists every month to learn, laugh and enjoy each other's company. On a different level, my volunteering at the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) spurred from wanting to contribute to the welfare and professionalism of counsellors in Singapore. I am currently chairing the Membership Subcommittee in SAC, and is glad that some of our time and contributions are already making an impact on the association.
Looking forward, I will be spending time on publishing some of my theories about human needs on this website, and maybe later on in a book. I will also be looking for opportunities to supervise more students, as well as start some lecturing if possible. Otherwise, a photography exhibition is my next big goal, so I hope to spend lots and lots of time taking, taking and taking breathtaking photographs. I hope that day comes soon! :)
